Wow I never thought I would get so many responses on this one. sdhotwn suggested to not slide my *** across the seat when I get out, YA RIGHT! I'm 6'1" and wiegh 290lbs, I have to slide to get in and out of that small car! Maybe I'll try getting some seat covers, I need to do that anyway so I don't mess up my seats. Cool thanx for all the responses fella's.

you could do them granny strips, just dont attach to bumper, hide underneath the car where no one will see and you solve the static prob and dont look like a fool at the same time!

ok they make whats called static guard, it wont stain and dried nicely, i have the same problem. In fact everytime my G/F gets shocked i think she has a contraction LOL, in the center part of the seat you have a nylon mixed material, it's not the suede, try the static guard you can get it at any store in the section with the laundry soap

you can always grab the edge of the roof of the car with your left hand to help you get out. it helps you get out and at the same time, you're grounded!

Yesterday I started a new thing where I grab the door before my fat *** leaves the seat, that seems to be working so far. Still plan on getting seat covers though

Awww... does the little blue lighting bolt hurt your little fingers?

If ya'll can't take the shock, try closing the door with the side of your forearm. Not nearly as many nerves as on your hands and fingertips, so you'll barely feel it.

It's definitely a combo of the upholstery and the humidity. Steve and Recon are right on point.

I normally now bump my shoulder against the edge of the door on my way out to get the discharge. Then close my door. In Tx we have some very dry seasons and the static is way bad at time.. I could probably power my computer
