Looking to find out what the factory modified on me....

Part no: MR988329

Inside the engine compartment I have a label stating that there was a Mitsubishi Certified Modification made to this part, now all I know is that it is a 1,500.00 MSRP part, that has something to do with the electrical system. Can anyone tell me what on earth (Aside from the Computer) would cost that much to replace? And how I can avoid breaking it, now that would be great too....

That was the PCM software update (they modded your ECU).

You can't hurt it, I promise.

Phew... much abliged man.... For a sec there, I thought I would be paying out the **** for a part that was easily broken. I am guessing that the ECU itself is the $1500.00 part... because if it costs that much for software, then Mitsubishi developers are worse then Bill Gates....

Generally, whenever they do a recall, they put a sticker somewhere in the bay. That's so the next guy knows it was done already...
