I have two things stuck in the roof of my car.
pfft... simple solution. Undo the front part of the headliner by the windshield, then go about 50mph and slam on the brakes.. Just hope the bulbs don't go into the little vents on the dash.
Yeah man, it pisses me off that i did it, not once, but twice. First one fell in there, then i had it within reach of my finger so i tried to fish it out, then i eventually just pushed it farther than i can reach with my finger so i gave up. I grab the stock bulb and it slips out of my hand into the damn hole too, boy i was pissed the **** off.
Now its just a strange sound. Doesnt happen that often, and you have to be really focused in on sounds to be able to hear it. But when i was pulling out of my driveway today and i went from reverse to drive, i heard something move and i thought it was just some crap in the backseat. But i remembered i just cleaned out my car the other day, that and i have two ****ing bulbs in my roof.

And to prevent this, and i mean this seriously, put a piece of tape over the hole when you are switching out the dome lights. That hole is so misplaced its not even funny. That, and you have to lean back and look up to try to aim the bulb into the little metal brackets, so its hard to really coordinate your moves correctly.
just keep trying to replace the bulbs...and let more bulbs slip in... eventually the roof will be soo stuffed with bulbs that the bulbs wont be able to roll around; Problem solved.

this thread is priceless...only cuz it's so damn true. i nearly did this very same thing but i caught it just before it went completely in the hole.
the spider thing is true tho..f*ckin spiders
