ralliart speedometer?
ralliart speedometer?
i saw on this car domain: (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2187751/2) that they did a gauge cluster swap from the standard ES to the ralliart...
to
what is the deal with swapping them? what happens to the miles on your car? do they register with the new one, or do they just change to whatever the swapped one has on it? ...and is this hard to do?

Mileage is stored on the odometer. So the new one would just say whatever it's original car had.
If you do the swap, you SHOULD have a shop recalibrate the new odometer to your car. Or, buy an odometer with more miles than you have and swap when you get there.

I thought mileage was stored in the ECU on digitial odometers?
I was always told that when you plug any odom into the car it will read YOUR cars mileage(digitial).
I've also been told you cant order a Odom with 0 miles on it no matter what, it has to be programed before sold (So this kind of contridicts my previous statement- if the odom is digitial)
But then again, I'm in a FORD sponsered Tech program, Mitsu's could very well be different.
Damn fords.

I swear to god we need a sticky thread at the top with 72pt BOLD font that says ALL NEWB QUESTIONS ANSWERED HERE. Then have a 500x500 pixel search button for questions that weren't answered in the topic.
