Radio Relocation

I know theres been a lot of threads on this and ive been reading on them, but i still got a few question.

I just got off the phone with the parts department of ray reece mitsubishi/volkswagon. its a local mitsubishi dealer in portland. and they said that they dont sell the relocation it. i was wondering do i need it? i just want to movie my Alpine 9854L down to where the cubby hole is and move the cubby hole to where my radio is. and also.down in the cubby hole area, is it just like the radio hole, where i can just bolt the radio brackets on to the sides? where could i connect the ground wire for the radio? thanks in advance.

It's called the CD changer kit. Not sure if you can put the cubby hole in there though.. it was meant to put a delete panel, or gauges. I think the pocket bolts on differently. I'm sure there is a way to make it work.

^^^It's just a matter of dimensions. Find a shop that has OEM console kits and eye-ball one that might fit. Like they said, there isn't a pre-made cubby hole pocket for our OEM radio location.

Hey guys I searched and searched but couldn't find anything. If I want to relocate an aftermarket headunit, could I still use a kit like this (the one in the link above, from AMS) or the oem radio relocation kit? I'm planning on using the rrm carbonfiber gauge pod and moving my radio. Thanks!

yeah i was thinking of doing this if i ever turboed my car. Have my gauges where the current radio is at.....and moving my radio down where the cubby hole is that since i rarely use it anywayz..............but that's IF i turboed my car which is unlikely
