which gear to dyno in?

kind of an off topic question but I thought it was a load of BS. I was at a dyno day yesterday and the technician said you can dyno in any gear you please. He claimed his specific dyno could calculate the torque and HP acurately. now I thought gearing multiplied your torque and could potentialy mess up your numbers. are there any dynos out there that are able to avoid this issue? thanks

-Justin

PS: I know its whatever gear is closest to 1:1 so I don't need that info.
