Ebay intake sucks
Yea they suck. I bought the one with the k&n just because intake doesent matter as long as you have the k&n filter...well i ended up not getting bolts and nuts for the maf and then the one of the blue boots did not fit on the pipe. So right now i have from TB the stock rubber tube to the air sensor to the maf to the filter. I guess it will be ok for now until i can get the right stuff to attach the pipe. So i recommend to not buy the intakes off of ebay. Even though its cheap its crap. I am done with non name brand ebay stuff.
i thought you wanted your intake to suck...
what i did was i used the stock tube that went from the TB to the airbox, connected the MAF to that with the MAF plate from my ebay intake, and then stuck this APC steel mesh filter onto the MAF--it works just great as a SRI. i did need to use one of the boots from the ebay intake--but i had one that would fit quite well.
sucks that they didn't send you bolts though, that's pretty crappy.

Well, all I can say is, you CAN be lucky, or you can be UNlucky. You pay a cheaper price, you expect to sometimes have fitment and other issues.
I've also bought stuff on Ebay that has been perfect, and some that is utter crap quality.
Do your research, ask questions... I usually find the ones that have crap quality are the ones that the seller doesn't reply properly to. Say you ask 3 questions, and the seller only answers 2... then you have to be careful. Not to say the quality will certainly be bad, jsut it tends to be that way.
Of course, you could pay 2-3x more for a known quality intake from a big brand, and be assured of good quality... do the calculations, it probably works out slightly in Ebay's favour (since you are probably not going to half of the stuff turn out to be crap, maybe 1/4 or 1/3) but factor in your aggrevation ;-)
