Hey Guys it's been a while since my last post, but anyways heres a lil info on how things are coming along.. Well as posted before I ran into problems with my AFC Ooh well, so now I plan on just upgrading to Version II..Hopefully no mistakes will arise this time as it should be shop installed. I've painted the front grill and I must say it gives the car a much better accent.. While all this was going on I began reading a mag and I came across this add By Racer X Motorsports they were holding a contest for a sponsorship, along with n entry to win a Skyline from Motorex in August. So there was a link to the website to go an apply for all of this , So I went n did such along with sending them some pics of my car . It stated on the site that the Sponsorship would range from a minium of $5,000 up to $10,000 or even higher. So I tried my luck and for some time I heard nothing, then finally I recieved a call from them stating that they where willing to give me a $10,000 (partial) sponsorship .. Now by partial I mean They cover half of the costs of all my purchases up to 10,000 (of course) and I cover the rest. So today I traveled out to their shop in Delaware to sign the contract now I await the arrival of the package with some sponsor goodies..So I'm pretty siked now,but the only think is I have to order the items I want through their shop. I explained to them that being as I own a lancer a lot of my parts that I will/would purchase are from Shops like RRM,RPW,RMR and those Stores i'm already affilated with through my Job and Team.. Now I'm hoping that they will still cut me these deals as per them sponsoring me.. I say this only because of the market right now for aftermarket parts for the Lancer ... Now they gave me a paper with companiy names that they are affilated with, and quite a few of them could be of good use so hopefully something can be worked out if all fails ..I'd just prefur to deal with those dealin specificlly with Lancers you know.. Ooh well the sponsor includes some other cool stuff as well but it's late so I guess thats all for now, I'm thinking it's time to start doing some serious planning and attack this project the right way

No replies yet huh... Figured somebody would have something to say... So anyway last night I was to tired to write some of the other stuff included with the sponsor.. 1st they include free Dyno time well free after you spend 20% of your asigned sponsor dough,that is.. Until then i'm under the sponsored Dyno Rate..2nd If my car does manage to somehow get into a mag ,thats anywhere from $ 500-1000 per page ,depending on how many pages i'm photographed in... (like that will happen LOL)

Now as far what do I have to do for them goes,I believe I just have to attend 4 shows within the next year and sport their windshield logo or their smaller logos.. Windshield banner is really just for photo opts I guess.

So all In all I guess it's pretty koo, I just hope they will step in on situations where they aren't the ones suppling the parts...

 

congrats on the sponsorship. safcII type II should have 1 or 2 more wires for the knock sensor and what not. i wish i had that kind of sponsorship. i just hate stickers tho. you're gonna have one tricked out lancer. keep us filled in on the exposure of your ride.

Ya thats what the guys where saying at the shop that the new AFC is dif that n they don't have the directions yet for the exact wiring cause everything is in japanese yet... I feel you on the stickers to man thats why I only really wanna use the smaller ones,at least up until I get into a photo shoot that is...but anyways ya hopefully all goes well

 

I wish i were so lucky. thats exactually what i need is a sponsorship to get my car from just lancer to super lancer.

Thats what I was saying when I applied for it... Now I'm questioning just how to go about it,cause as you can see from my above posts: I may have to go outside my sponsor for some of my parts which prolly means going full price...which really doesn't make any sense to me...You want me to show/race my car with your name on it, but aren't quite sure if you can help me with outside parts! come on now....

Anyways,I still have the parts from when i was planning on doing a custom turbo setup:minus the turbo now though thing was in worse shape then I thought that and I need a new AFC my friend has a T-28 though so maybe I'll cop that depending on what the sponsor ends up doing for me..I'd love to go with RRM though, cause you really can't beat there setup ya know...To tell you the truth their the company that I'd mainly like to deal with. I'd like to deal with RMR though for the brake lines , my job for the body kit,RPW/Vision Imports for the turbo cam : and my shops through my team for my rims,tires,interior, and audio/video... Thats just some ideas for now Really to lazy at the moment to get into real detail on what exact plans I have. Plus only time will tell what exactlly goes down
