Went to Tsukuba circuit yesterday to catch a bit of action. There was a track day organized by Amuse, a famous Japanese tuning house. Amoung all the participants there were a few demo cars there trying to brake the lap record...quite a sight to say the least!!
Fastest during most of the day was the Jun R33 GTR...but then the Cyber Evo driven by "Raman" posted a very fast 57.39 secs!!

Was that car based on the EVO V/VI? I can tell from the dashboard [edit: just found that out in your site, an EVO VI]

I've driven Tsukuba circuit quite a few times, it's a very tight track. That time beats out the JUN 550hp GC8 Impreza from the last super battle!

I think the best I've done on that circuit is a 1:15, but then I'm not driving anything near as fast as those tuner cars.

Any idea what times such an extreme tuned car would do at the Nurburgring? Wonder if it could come close the the Yellowbird's time?

 

All of these crazy fast evos use really short gear ratios for racing in Tsukuba. Most of them hit the rev limiter in 5th on the back straight!! So definitely a no no for the 'ring!
