Installing Cluster

I have a regular US Lancer with 80k miles.

If I install an Evo Cluster with X Miles on it, will it show my mileage(80k) or the Evo's mileage(x)?

Will I have to cut wires or straight plug. I havent been back there lol.

So it will show the other cars cluster? ummm. Wouldn't people change that to lower the miles some?

It will show the evos miles, and yes it plugs right up, no cutting wires.

I guess you could get a lower milage guage cluster but dont tell anyone, I am sure its against the law. Do it at your own risk.

I asked the local mitsu dealer about that, and for the 'low price' of 1000 I could do it.... Yikes. I have not taken the back off, but I was figuring that if you feel brave enough, you could swap out the entire screen section of the speedo.... but the more I think of it, the braver you'd have to be...

well if i can find a messed up cluster at a junkyard or something i might bust it open to see how they store the data. if its just on a CMOS chip or flashrom you could just pull the chip outof the socket and swap it. . . apparently mistu has a way to do it, which means that it is possible and since they charge alot it means that it is probably ridiculously simple to do yourself. . .

ill look into it. . . i doubt it will be any time soon but it has been added to my list

Good point. I got a buddy that works for Mitsubishi. I'll ask him about that
