What determines the doorhandle colors?

What determines the doorhandle colors?

I've noticed that the ES's sometimes have black handles on say a silver car, which doesn't match. But then I see pics with silver on silver. All I can gather is that they put black handles on the ES models for '03, and not 02? Also what would be a good deal on an '03 OZ edition? Thanks!

Colored door handles are an option on the ES, I believe, although I've been wrong before. Color coding is standard on the OZ and LS, however.

I would say anything under 16K for an OZ off the showroom floor with an extended warranty would be a good deal. That's for a 5-speed, of course. Auto costs about a grand more.

thanks for the reply. Is an extended warranty really neccessary though? I'm having trouble finding much info about the normal warranty, but I think its 36 months bumper to bumper, and now 7 year/100k powertrain? And yeah, stick shift all the way

I got my 03 Lancer OZ Rally for 14,500. They have this deal for $2,000 off all of their cars, cept the Evo. I payed cash that day, and away I went, and I've been going ever since. They still might be running the same deal.

Standard warranty is 3 years/30000 miles. Extended is 5 years/70000. The extended is not a nice as the standard, since it doesn't cover everything, and it doesn't cover all the costs, but it's only like an extra 600, so it's worth it if yuo plan on having the car over the 30k. I've only had mine a year and I'm at 25000, but I drive a 70 mile round trip to work every day.

You get the color-keyed door handles on an ES when you get the package with keyless entry, floor mats and a split-fold back seat.

As for the standard warranty, currently it is 3yr/36,000 bumper-to-bumper and 7yr/100,000 mile powertrain with Roadside assistance (very limited). The 7/100 offer is good through June at this point (it's a temporary thing so its not in the owners manual). If your getting a car now you could get an extended B-to-B warranty but obviously no need for an extended powertrain warranty.
