Do you guys know anything....

Do you guys know anything about the Skyline. The Skyline and the Lancer are 2 cars I love they we generally speaking do not see in the US, not on the road as any other car at least. How does the Skyline compair to the Lancer. The Skyline is around 60,000 right?

You can actually get a Skyline in the US. You'd be looking at around $80K + taxes, etc. for an R34! Used 92 models seem to go for around $40K. Check out http://www.skylinegtr.com for more info.

Just want to add in something. The Skyline GTR is considered to be the “Crown Jewel” of all Japanese sport cars. No other series have such a long racing history compare to the “R” (as they called it in Japan). The most famous version is the R32 (1988-1995 as far as I remember). I still remember the first time I saw it was in the Marcu Grand Prix when it defeated 3-4 E30 M3. It also captured numerous championships in Japan. It was know for its all around performance as a GT car. It’s RB26DETT engine is just like the 4G63T on EVO, they’re just classics.

The Skyline itself is only a “high-performance” RWD coupe/sedan. The R34 Skyline GTS is a 250hp RWD car while the GTR is a twin-turbo power AWD supercar. Even with GTR, there’s the normal GTR and the V-spec version (specially tuned and equipped).

The upcoming “Skyline” in Infiniti badge is the new generation R35. However, the GTR will no longer be name as “Skyline”. So bringing the Skyline is meaningless if you’re a big GTR fan. But I guess it’s just testing the water for Nissan to re-enter the US performance market.

is the GT-R still going to have the "generation"? like is it gonna include the gt-r if we say the 35?

coz...like...alotta times i just referred to skylines to their generation (thx to initial d)

Skyline

LanEvo, V-Spec II is later year V-Spec with minor changes. For example, on R34, the only difference b/t the V-Spec and V-Spec II is the later model (V-Spec II) has a NACA duct, which is not on the earlier model.

Until now, no other new update on how will GT-R be carry on. Since Skyline is just debuted (Usually GT-R will be release 1 year after the Skyline in the previous Gen), the GT-R is still up in the air now.

Cool

The Skyline is without doubt the king of Jap cars.
In standard form it is not as quick as the lancer but the tuning pontential is huge.
A lancer will go to 350bhp for around £1500 of mods, above that then the engine needs some stronger parts. There are some 450+bhp lancers but the cost of that would be £15000 and more and that is the limit of that engine.
A skyline tuned to 450bhp is mildly tuned and the cost would be alot less. Those engines will take 1000bhp easily.I have seen a video of Top Secrets 1000bhp skyline doing a 200mph run through a tunnel in Japan, the speed and noise is unbelievable...

Cool

Lan Mate.....This was a full road going version,if you see the video the tunnel has a curve in it a bit like the monaco grand prix. They handle just about aswell as a track car and I mean a proper track with twists and turns not ovals.
Top Secret bought a 900bhp Supra to the UK for a show and tried to do a 200mph on a motorway late at night but pc plod caught them before they could do it...
