so i take my car to the dealer

took my car to the dealer because my check engine light went on. the light came on because of my fuel temp sensor range is not working properly..so everything was done the service person told me i needed this certain part in order to fix it.. then they mention my car had a recall it was the pcm recall thing.. so they took care of it... i remember way back pple got it done and was having idle problems. so i said to myself im not gonna get it done, but i totally forgot about it yesterday. now my car sounds like its standerd.. what i mean is when i bring my car rpms past 3 and i let of the gas the rpm slowly drops.. i wanted to know if my car will stay like this or if any of you guys found a fix for it.. so i wanna know any of u automatic cars are having the same problem due to the recall pcm reflash done..

Tune your car. Check out the lancer engine managment section in the tech forums and learn how to tune. I'm not sure what the recall did but with the ECU cable you can tune your own car.

I dunno if the ECU gets reseted when doing the PCM thing....if i remember correctly it doesn't. When i got my recall fixed, my gas millages per trip didn't change to zero nor my radio presets got reset.

I believe resetting your (unplugging the battery) ECU might help your car relearn the curves which might fix the problem.

Yup, as far as I have read, your ecu has to relearn some things. The old mapping had already learned to cope with all the changes your car has gone through, but the new one is starting out thinking you have a new, 0 miles car, so give it a week or two to adjust to your wear and tear.

yeah, the recall is for a reflash. let it idle for like 10 minutes, and then go for a drive for 10-15 minutes without going over 3k-ish RPMs. this should help.
