Having the HFC will definitely help keep it quiet.

I have the kamikaze header and d/p, test pipe and buschur catback w/ magnaflow muffler and it sounds...well not so great When I rev it at a stop it sounds like a dirtbike

If you are trying to stay away from the ricey sound, do yourself a favor and get some sort of cat.

Plus, I have absolutely no low-end with an open exhaust. No power until like 4k rpm : Not enough back-pressure on the 4g94 to have a catless exhaust.

Try to find a stock cat that will fit your piping...or weld it on. That's what I plan on doing.

Ya, I am doing the 2.25" magnaflow resonator, and the 2.25" magnaflow HFC. Will post pictures and sound clips if there is enough interest for them.

You have to agree that it's quieter than a test pipe...

my magnaflow muffler sounds pretty good right now by itself but the RRM header makes it a BIT ricey at higher RPM's. I am hoping that the larger piping and magnaflow resonator will deepen the tone just a bit. If that is the case I will be 100% satisfied. I will post pics/clips next Thursday or Friday. I should be getting it installed Thursday and tuned Friday.

UPDATE!!!! There was no need to do the downpipe as we found it was 2.25" all of the way through already... Ok, so I got the 2.25" catback with magnaflow HFC and resonator. First impressions.... Louder than just the muffler. A decent amount louder but nothing deafening. Cruising speeds and idle are quiet. Exhaust tone got even deeper than before. Performance wise, maybe a SLIGHT loss in power from 1-2k RPM's QUICKLY dissappears and the power comes on nice and strong. Pulls all of the way to redline and when it shifts to a lower RPM, still has plenty of power on tap. Definite gain in middrange and top end. I am going out to reset computer now and will get the SAFC tuned next week.

you sure about that downpipe size? have you seen the bend in it? definitely not 2.25". major bottleneck.

according to them/looking at it, it was a 2.25" oval downpipe... Later down the road I might upgrade it but that would be after cams/coilovers.

well, seeing as how the exhaust manifold is only 2" and the rest of the exhaust is only 1.75", i highly doubt that. maybe they just didnt wanna do it for you?
