Discount on 2008 lancer?

I wanted to ask people who are wanting or own a 2008 lancer, if they got any discount off MSRP and any items or goods that the dealership threw in like nuts, matts? specail things?

I am considering buying a 08 lancer but the dealership gave like no discount?? should I wait or buy it! please let me know if you got any discount and if you are int he US or Can

thanks

Well I really would not expect much of a discount at this time since the car has only been out for a month. Also if you compare the invoice price with the MSRP, there really is not a lot of room to work a deal. For example a fully loaded GTS with auto has an invoice of $21,337 and the MSRP is $22,615. So less than a $1300 discount.
Maybe in a few months if the car does not sell well you might see some deals.

What they can do is through in extras... I bargained as low as I could on my '03; but when they couldn't go a penny lower, and asked about throwing in an extended warranty? Got their $1300 warranty for free. Good thing it was free too, cuz I never did use it! LOL

I wouldn't expect to get any sort of deals/discounts until at least the end of the year, if not next spring. The car is too new, too few are available, and in many markets the demand is high.

What I wrote is that the margin between MSRP and invoice is pretty low on the Lancer when you compare it to other cars. Most margins are $2000 and above.

Every car I have ever purchased was at invoice or a few % above but in this cars case I would pay MSRP due to the above fact. Also, I think you are getting a lot of car for the money.

I got mine for 21,000 if I remember correctly. I also got some free stuff like oil changes and inspections. Plus I got a great trade on my Toyota Celica GT.

The only deals you are gonna get is if you trade in your current Mitsu. They'll give you rebates and all this crap. Just for being a returning customer and what not.

I got rebates and got a good amount for my lancer. Walked away w/ a brand new 08 lancer for my pops.
