2008 Lancer Insurance

Well it was bound for one of these threads to come up and since I am ready to purchase one, I was wondering what everyone was paying on insurance for these. I hope its not too much and my driving record is clean but a downside is that I am only 19.

For now I imagine that it'll be just as high as the current Lancers, if not higher. Insurance companies don't seem to like Mitsubishis. Plus, there aren't any safety ratings out for the car yet, so I'm not sure how that'll affect rates.

I was quoted at ~$300 a month living in New England as an under 25 male with one (minor) accident but depending upon where you are it may be more.

I'm in the same boat as you, looking for insurance quotes. Nothing for 2008's has came up yet, looks like I'll call around and see. I don't know how much longer I can take driving my wrangler 50 miles round trip from home to work/college

It's weird that insurance companies would bump it up. The new Lancer comes with 7 airbags standard, including a first-in-class driver knee airbag.

^Driver's knee bag? Whoa! I know that when I was quoted for a new Legacy GT, the price was lower than my 3 yr old Lancer. Saftey and the fact it was a mid-size car lowered it, the agent said.

I just got the numbers back from State Farm here in PA. I am 29 probably one speeding ticket and I also insure a 99 VW Jetta. Right now I pay $45 a month for the Jetta and I will be paying $55 a month for the new Lancer. I am also buying a house so my car insurance went down so I asked what I would pay for the Lancer without the house and they said $62 a month. So there you have it. In fact State Farm gave me the safe car discount right away and that they expected this car to test very well. So I have no clue where everyone else gets insurance but WOW expensive.

I also have mine garage kept and apparently that makes a difference to.
