Hey guys i've searched the forums and i have yet found a concrete answer. are the 2001-2003 lancers longer than 2004, or are the 2004+ models longer than the 2001-2003 models. Other than length, are the other things under the actual car any different?

I've found some posts where ppl think that one is longer than the other, but not for sure.

 

ok guys so i actually just found out that the 2004+ models are longer. So if i purchase the greddy EVO2 Catback, which fits 2001-2003 lancer ES/OZ, would it be difficult for the auto shop to make the greddy stick out 2 inches further, since the 2004 lancer is 2 inches longer? Would that just be a simple case of welding on an extension pipe? or perhaps bending a hanger? I hope i wont have a problem trying to fit the EVO2 onto my 2004 lancer.

 

Apart from the exterior, I think theres some difference in the intake manifolds. Something about spacing.

 

Pet peeve: there is no 2001 Lancer. They started making them in 2002.

As for the answer on the exhaust, I have no clue. Personally, I say you're wasting money on the GReddy. Get a muffler you like and have the exhaust shop do custom piping. You'll save a couple hundred bucks and it'll fit perfect because it's custom made.
