I was reading the specs 4 the wrx sti and that's going to blow everthing out the water while still out the dealer stock @ 300hp.

Some magazines have already done comparison races of the STi and other cars, such as the Evo 8. While the STi has a massive engine, turns out the car is lacking in its steerability. The nose doesn't point quite where you want it to go as easily as the Evo. Basically, I look at it as a swap of stability for power. Think Mustang.
It also reminds me of an autocross match that my friend ran in his old beater beetle. A guy with a 911 was beaten by everyone on the track, including my friend's beetle because he couldn't keep it on the track. Again, it was a power vs. steering problem.
I personallywould stick with the Evo because of its superior handling in most situations. I'd much rather get somewhere properly than run off the track.

I guess but there are still aftermarket that take care of that where the evo would have to pick up power that the sti already has and for the same price as the evo.

I would pick the Evo based on looks alone.

The new Sti's are a little better looking than the old ones but still ugly IMO...

A 30hp gain for the EVO is also very easy to come by. As someone else mentioned straight away speed isnt always where it is at. The difference in time can be very easily made up in the corners.
