Turbo Timer and my 100k mile warranty
Turbo Timer and my 100k mile warranty

Doing anything to you're car will pretty much void you're warranty on some part. Electrical, mechanical etc.
Honestly, I think a turbo timer, boost controller and boost gauge will actually help you keep you're car in better shape than how it was originally sold to you.
The turbo timer will help you cool the turbo, so it doesn't just shut off and the heat just gets at it.
Boost controller will allow you to dial in the psi you want to run at which allows you to dance with the devil and up the boost when you pull up next to an STI, while lowering the boost for daily driving.
And a boost gauge will help you know that you're turbo is functioning properly.
I really don't buy into this whole warranty thing. I have the 3/yr 60,000km warranty on my Lancer. And honestly if by modding the car I **** it up then it's my problem and the dealer may or may not fix it depending on how bad i ****ed it up.
you being an evo owner expect the worst when you try to claim on a warranty issue regarding the turbo, intercooler, clutch, tranny or engine. I suspect they'll accuse you of racing it no matter what mods are or aren't on the car.
My advice is add the parts and take care of you're car. If you don't beat the **** out of it, you'll probably never need the 100k mile warranty for any of the major mechanical things. True the alternator or starter might go, but thats hardly the result of modding a car.
Add those two or three parts to your car if it's going to help you take care of it better and if theirs an issue just tell the dealer flat out "hey man i don't race and these parts aren't on the car for that, they're just ways of keeping my car in wicked condition rather than letting the turbo run a foul or lose boost without noticing.

Search the posts for the warranty questions.
Chances are the dealer will have no problem with the boost controller if it is properly installed.
The boost gauge will make the suspicous that you are playing with the boost.
Ultimately the answer is a no it won't void the warranty which I won't go into here because it has been posted so many times.
