Warranty

I did a quick search on here but I didnt really find my answer.

First off I would like to say hi, im new here. Havent gotten a chance to go through all the threads yet but im impressed so far.

Anyways a few days ago I purchased my first car. Used 03 Lancer ES. Now I ended up getting the extra warranty with it, 5 years 100K km...

Now my question is this, it covers almost everything but the body. Now does this mean I cant do anything to the motor? Cause that would really suck. I would hate to only be able to do cosmetic changes, but if changing anything under the hood is gonna void my warranty I cant touch it.

I know this may seem like a nooby question but this is my first car, and I really dont know anything about warranty and such.

Maybe im just better off talking to the dealership?

Cheers
Corey

intake and exhaust you are pretty much safe. After that...well, you take a risk of voiding your warranty, but there are so many loopholes it is not even funny.

Depends on the dealership, some are lenient (like mine) others won't even accept an intake.

Nick said it best - it depends on the dealership. Some will let you do whatever you want, some will be total hardasses about it.

In the end, just remember that any modification you do has a chance of hurting the car and ruining your warranty. You have to decide whether or not you consider it "worth it."

Yeah, but if something goes wrong it has to be related to the part the broke. They can't say " your lowering springs made the engine blow".

they will find someway to void somthing when you go in... if you lower your car they can find somthing to void... again depending on the dealership

BEST bet...call the dealership you purchased it from or at best go in. talk to the service manager and ask him what they let you get away with.
