Lancer GSR Help

Hello,
I heard from couple dealers that mitsubishi cars got 2 much problems in them, i love the evo style, i was actually gona buy one but 2 dealers put me off the hook, is it anyway true? they also said mitsu coverd up problems in their cars, Any suggestions? I also want to know the reliability of a 1996 Lancer GSR done 154,000 km's. Are they reliable car? and if i ever buy a evo it would be a evo 4, so if u guys can give me details on that as wel.. thank u so much

With any car that has 150k on it, reliability isnt as much going to be about how well the car holds up, but who was driving it and how they were driving it. With a car with that much milage you are pretty much guarenteed that you will need to be buying some sort of part soon. In terms of really bad stuff happening, try to guage how the driver was.

You're the first Kiwi I've seen on this board. None of us Americans have even seen a 1996 Lancer GSR. You're not going to get much advice.

150k seems high. But it might be fine. It just depends on how the car was cared for.

If there one thing i can say is take a Evo if you can with lower miles and not raced because you can get problems but still good cars.
The Lancer Gsr is a good car for alittle drving fun but ive heard that the 4g93t engine they have isnt to strong if you decide to up the boost. They just wherent built tuff like the 4g63t where. So with that note stick with a EVO.
If you arent going to be racing up really modin the car then the Lancer GSR is fine but not with a 150k on it.
