Post quick question

well, ever since I first saw the lancer on one of the many racing games out on the market, and learning more and more about the lancer, i've always wanted one SO EFFIN BAD!

well... i've had my OZ for a while now, and well... they didn't have any stick shift ones in stock at the time, so i ended up getting the automatic trans one...

i've gone to the mitsubishi dealer and asked about trading mine in for either the evo or a stick one, and all they say is "bring it on in"

i'm guessing someone in here has done this before, OR has some sort of info about this decision, and whether i should do this or not (money wise) as a smart move.

now, I'm the type that wants to hook the bejesus out of my car and make it all types of purdy

so far, my sound system's gonna be one hell of a blow out, i have all the pieces ready for it, i'm just not gonna do it cuz well... i wanna make sure i'm gonna keep it... or trade it...

WHAT SHOULD I DO?!
AND HOW SHOULD I GO ABOUT THIS?!!!

have you inquired as to how much it would cost to just change the trany?
when I bought my lancer I told them I wouldn't buy from them unless they found my exact car. ES, black, manual trans, fully loaded. It took them 1 day to scower the dealerships and holding lots all over canada but one turned up in ontario in a holding lot. It took them 2 weeks to ship it to me and was well worth the wait and I didn't have to pay an extra $$$ for the shipping.

But anyway... after that... in response to your question it just depends on how bad you want it. I know personaly, no matter how much something costs, if I want it bad enough I'm going to get it. whether I have to save up the money for a year or whatever. its all about priorities man.

It all depends on your tastes bro! My opinion is obviously very biased, but I'd say go EVO. If you don't feel spending the extra money is a wise decision for your current situation, go for an MT OZ. I just can't imagine not being able to shift gears. Everytime I get into an auto I find my left foot searching for the clutch for a good 5 seconds before I look at the shifter.

get the evo, but sell your lancer on your own...You'll get a couple thousand more bucks... They'll give ya around 10k at the dealership.

i am in the same situation, except my car is still being paid off so selling it on my own would be very tough...

i would only get like 2000 tops after paying stuff off on the car at the dealership. any input guys?

plus the car has like the extra rust undercoating and longer warranty and stuff

it is a 2003 with under 5000 miles...no scratches or anything, you would think id get a great deal....ideas?

Try to get a direct swap but with having probably only paid off a marginal fraction of what you owe on the car, you're gonna get taken either way.

I WANNA GO EVO SO BAD! but... it'll cost me a bit more than what i can afford... i can stick with the oz and i'm SURE i can do some sick stuff with it (as he searches thru the forum for optional stuff to do to oz) but that's the thing, i'd get a seperate car in order to race with it, ALL IN WHILE i keep my current one and just go all out to make it look purdy since it's an auto.

but... uh, yeah.... i think i'm gonna swap for the stick shift, i'm gonna see if i can do it this week... I'D LOVE TO!
