Needed: '08 Lancer @ Thunderhill, CA 12/1/07

Goodsport Racing will be campaigning an '08 Lancer in the 2007 25 Hours of Thunderhill in Willows, CA on Dec. 1, 2007. Though we will be bringing a full compliment of spares for the car, its always a good idea to have a spare car just in case something obscure breaks.

We are looking for someone willing to bring up their '08 Lancer to the track as a spares car. Chances are we won't need anything, and we won't be taking anything major out of the car...a just-in-case thing. Of course, we will return or replace any parts on the car and guarantee you can drive home intact after the race.

We will cover your travel expenses, a hotel room, and food. You get to watch and participate in, as a crew member if desired, the 25 Hour effort from pit lane. We can also hook you up with some free performance parts for the car, tbd.

Please PM if interested, or call Dave at Goodsport Racing at 415.469.0489.

Thanks,
Dave

I'll definately make it worthwhile to drive up and watch the race. If anyone is seriously interested, I would be glad to discuss at 415.469.0489.

We are not going to be tearing out transmissions or anything like that...more along the lines of coil packs, windshield wiper motor, relays, etc.

They aren't a parts vendor, they're a race team.

Maybe they'll gut your car and install a 98-pt. roll cage if you ask nicely, but it would certainly make your car less fun for the drives to Dairy Mart.

Screw performance parts. They're basically offering someone a free trip plus being able to be with the crew and watch from pit lane what should be a very cool NASA race. This would be a very sweet weekend for an 08 owner.

In association with our sponsors like Robispec, swaybar.com, and others, we are actually developing some pretty cool performance parts for the Lancer. I'm not sure how many people will be interested in this stuff as it might be overkill, but it will be there for those who want it because of projects like the 25 Hour. Here are just a couple of things we are working on now:

Rear swaybar: Through our sponsors, we will be offering street and full race solutions for rear, and eventually front, sways bars for the '08 Lancer. Most bars on the market are tubular 4130 heat-treated chrome-moly bars with two or three hole positions for adjustment. We are developing a solid spring steel bar with infinitely adjustable end links in three different diameters for any application. Spring steel imho is a better material for swaybars despite a small weight disadvantage due to its more linear response and better resistance to creep, or 'sag'. The infinitely adjustable end links are slightly more involved to set up initially, but offer the ability to tune your car exactly to your needs.

Coil-Overs: In two weeks we will have a double adjustable coil-over solution complete with camber plates and custom suspension components that correct geometry for extremely lowered cars. The solution will use components from a major brand known for quality. Again, this solution may not be for everyone, but for those who can use it, it will be there.

Even if you don't want to subject your car to being a racer's parts pile, which I completely understand, the 25 hour is an truly amazing event that is worth the effort to see. BTW it is free for spectators to come and visit. Just don't get too close to our pits...we might put you to work.

Sorry, I didn't know I had to make my examples context-specific. Next time I'll say [insert name of convenience store in Tucson, AZ here] when I say something to you.

Good luck with the race, ustcc evo!
