The SI is better than the new lancer imo, the new lancer is slower than the si, its not a six-speed, no limited-slip dif, no v-tech...i can go on and on.

i couldn't see myself driving a Honda. the coupe looks better than the sedan but its not worth $30k. if u want a performance sedan u should not b looking at anything FWD. IMHO fwd is like jacking off, all ur doing is screwing urself!!

however if u must have fwd w/4doors here's ur best choice:

of course u could also get a WRX which is more reliable:

Erm, the two cars don't even compete. Lancer and SI = apples and oranges.

You're thinking of the Mugen Si, which nobody in their right mind would buy. The regular Si can be had for $20-ish.

I would honesty sell the lancer and use it as a down payment. How often are you going to choose to drive a 2003 lancer over a 2008 Civic Si? Is it worth having higher monthly payments just to have a car around that you might drive a few times a month?
Sorry but the new lancer isn't even close to a competitor of the Civic Si. The Si is faster, lighter, and a Honda meaning reliable as hell and easy to sell. The only Si that is 30k$ is the Mugen edition and if you're willing to pay 8 grand over a regular Si for a body kit and some JDM parts, you're a ****ing ricer. The Mazdaspeed3 is a nice car and I'm pretty biased about the WRX.

there's a 2008 civic SI at Honda Of Tempe in AZ fully loaded asking $28,995.

if u want just a newer reliable car then buy the Honda.
if u want a performance sedan to continue ur driving enjoyment, then u need to shop around bcuz Honda ain't it!! here's a nice example of a performance sedan where u wouldn't lose anything but gain a whole lot + faster than ur lancer turbo:

or this one which has the 6spd manual & rear diff u require:

what i meant when i said i was keeping the car i meant that my dad wants to take over the payments on the lancer. he drives a subie and he is tired of driving stick. He said he wants the car and i told him he can have it if he takes over the payments. I would rather see my dad take the car than anyone else. At least i will know its in good hands. plus i can use it if i ever want it.

That's not bad but you're still missing out on 8k$ that could be used as a downpayment unless your Dad is actually paying you for the car in which case good on you.

You can get a new SI for 22ish if you don't put up with dealership crap. The two vehicles you listed are completely different kinds of cars and are substantially more expensive. If you have a budget of 30k$ you can buy a lot of cars like a new WRX, slightly used evo or slightly used STI.
