Lancer 2008+ Remote Starter /with module

Anyone thinking of getting it. Its been out in Japan for a while and I know that dealers here I think are now carrying them with the module included so you do not have to use the key to by pass the immobilizer (saw it at the dealership asked the Mitsu service guy about it)

But dealer charges 400 bucks for their brand.

I will research around to see who else has compatible versions

You mean get a starter from somewhere else besides the dealer?? That would void your little warranty.

incorrect, there are modules that succesfully intergrate with your car.
what warranty would you be refering to?

yea when i bought my 08 they also had the starter with the bypass but they where asking almost 500$ for it so i told him forget it il just go to best buy with that little 1000$ gift card you have me and il get it there for less. and the dealer told me to make sure they have a warrenty for their work cose if there is a problem with the eletronics after the install they wouldent cover it. :P

got to love it lol

Getting an aftermarket starter doesn't void your warranty.

Man I wish I had heard bout this earlier. I just got a Computstar Pro starter barely a month ago!

ya now that they are releasing updated alarms, there is no need to by pass, the immobilizer now continues to function i beleive.

Sounds good. Would've saved me $175 on getting a new key if I had known this gah!

Sweet! I'd love to get one. Too bad the price will never drop. Can't buy a mod that costs as much as a month's car payment!

How much do they charge for installation any ideas? Cause I paid only about $320 for my Compustar starter, which was basically the top of the line one. But installation cost me another $250 so I wonder if this wouldve been a cheaper route.

it would be cheaper because there is no odd by pass method involved, one would speculate that would be the case but , who knows, i will ask how much next time i go in

Actually the bypass method isnt that bad and probably takes the least amount of work in the whole process. All it involves is burying your spare key. Most of the work i think is to rig it upto the locks, trunk, and integrating it with your ignition, and a temperature sensor (well in my case anyway, not sure if Mitsubishi's starter will have that feature)
