? How is that "hating"? The car wasn't designed to have HIDs thus the headlights don't project the beam properly. If you did your research you would know this. There's a reason why I didn't have HIDs on my lancer and don't plan on getting them for my current car unless I buy projectors.
Edit: I noticed you edited your post, I'm guessing that was a smart move.

& BTW the lancer headlights shoot the hids perfectly, they just look to brigth because of the picture quality (phone). I'll take some more when i find my memory card for my digital camera.
Amby, to be honest, if you don't like it, cool, i'm sure there is crap we can say about your ride that we don't like. there's no real need to get all huffy and puffy about it, if he digs his HIDs then more power to him, no one is forcing you to like it or do it to your ride, if you're that pissed about it, write your local congressman and let him know that lights like that upset you.
Well considering my car is bone stock save for some mud flaps and an axleback, you wouldn't be insulting me but Subaru's design teams. I'm not getting huffy about it, I'm simply stating A. my opinion that HIDs on a car not designed for them is a bad idea and B. the fact that the lancer headlight housing is not designed for use with HIDs. If you actually check you'll notice that someone else gets "huffy" and says I'm "hating", whatever the hell that means. If he likes them, fine, people like their BOVs and harness bars but that doesn't mean we should all stand back and tell them they're fantastic.
sa_town_ridah, based on the pics, the HIDs are not being projected properly. Notice how there is no discrete cut off on the sides or the top. You'll have to aim them down quite a bit and to the right unless you want to blind oncoming traffic. Did I say you couldn't get HIDs? No, did I say it was impossible? No, I simply said it wasn't a good idea. There is a clear distinction there. I can order a BOV for my car and install it in 15 minutes but it'd be a very poor decision on my part.

As a test, let someone else drive your car and see how you like it when it's coming towards you or behind you. Someone in the club put HIDs in their 04/05 WRX and they completely washed out anyone who drove ahead of them during a cruise. That car at least had a closely related HID-compatible counterpart (the STI) but even it had problems since there is a rather large difference between a HID housing (namely the presence of a projector) and a housing designed for bulbs (which use a reflective surface to aim the light).
Amby does have a clear point about the HIDs. I plan on getting the Evo X projector head lamps when theyre available so I can install HIDs and project them properly with a distinct cut off line. Usually reflective head lights with HIDs like the STi or Lexus ES330 use HIDs that are somewhat less bright and/or aim them downward to protect oncoming traffic from blindness. Every see those old civic headlamps with HIDs? They would simply disperse light everywhere which defeats the purpose of HIDs other than looks. In this case, it might just be the same.
