getting $2,000 for my smashed front oz
getting $2,000 for my smashed front oz
So pretty much to get down to it a guy who owns a repair shop around here and who races cars wants to buy my lancer that has a smashed in front end thats repairable. The question: my car had 109,000 miles on it and lots of wear and tear but the engine and tranny were in great shape, and it has upgrades; brakes, lines, shifter and bushings, sway bar, all strut bars and so on do u think i'm doing good or making a mistake?!?!?!? it kbb's for $5,100 in fair condition and the guy is gonna pay me $2,000 it needs new front bumper, both fenders, hood, rad and support, condensor, and bumper brackets thn paint, and headlights
$5000 for fair and yours is wrecked. I'd say sell, get something easier to modify. Like an old 240, they sell for dirt cheap in Sac (where I am now), and it's only like a 2 hour drive if you don't go during rush.
Get an old 240, or RX-7 for about 2Gs. Thats what my friend paid, and his is pretty damn decent.
You could also get a Hachi Roku for 1000, and you'll still have money
leftover for rims

The mods that you did to your car have nothing in determining the value of your car. Did your insurance company offically write off your car? If so, then you might get more then the $2000 that the guy wants to pay you for it.
no i have liability so my insurance hasn't even seen my ride and there is no frame damage....i'm jus thinkin its a lancer is it worth me putting 2 grand into it or jus sell it and have 2 grand in my pocket. I smashing around in my saturn sl2 for now but i was thinkin of getting an ae86 or 240sx also maybe even a miata. its funny cause no matter what i am going back to rear wheel drive i miss it. plus all three are great cars...turboing a miata is nice and cheap also

I don't know where you guys are finding these cars but I haven't seen an AE86 go for 1000$ in years. Ever since they became popular tuner cars, the prices have doubled/tripled/quadrupled/etc.
A friend of mine in the panhandle area of Florida just bought a decent AE86 for around $600 about a week ago.
