True 0-60 time for the 2008 Lancer and 2009 2.4l Lancer?

Does anyone have some solid numbers for what to expect as a 0-60 time with a 5spd 08 Lancer? I have read online everything from 7.5seconds to 9 seconds.

Assuming the shifts are pretty good, whats an accurate 0-60 time

...AND...

with the bigger 2.4l 2009 GTS model, will there be a significant improvement in 0-60? Has an estimated time been announced?

This is assuming stock set ups...

Any idea how much faster the 2.4l engine will make the lancer?

Will it knock a second off the 0-60?

Well, one thing is certain though, considering that a 2009 Lancer GTS is only $500 more expensive than 2008 GTS, 2009 GTS is a better performer plain and simple. And initial 0-60 times aren't always the best of what the car can do, I remember when 2008 GTS came out, a 5-seed tranny was barely able to get below 8sec, and the best time I have seen was 7.6 by MotorTrend I believe, so I would think that with a 2.4l and a bit more HP the same car will improve by at least 0.2-0.4sec., plus with higher displacement there should be a better/smoother acceleration at higher speeds (50-80MPH) compared to a 2.0l. Anyway, if you want to buy a GTS, if you can get some crazy *** deal for a 2008 just get a 2008, if it won't save you much just get a 2009, either way Lancer GTS is not really a performance car.

should i trade my 2008 Lancer Base GTS for a fully loaded 2008 Lancer GTS? does it make sense? I am a geek when it comes to electronics stuff on cars. What you guys think? or should i just wait for 2009 FullyLoaded?

^^^Dude...do you know how upside down you would be? No, that does not make sense. I think you should have gotten what you really wanted when the chance was there.

Yea, i think the bigger engine will really give the lancer the one thing it was always slightly lacking. I'm pretty much dead set on getting a new 2009 GTS... all the reviews I have read make the fully loaded GTS seem like a perfect match for me. The only negative thing I read about is that it could use a little more power and the 2009 will address that.

I want to buy a new car right when I start my new job at Sylvania in June, so the new lancer should be just arriving in showrooms. Hopefully I can use a Vendor Affiliate discount to get the car a grand or so under invoice

You'd take a bath on that deal.

Also, I don't know which tech you're looking for, but the fully-loaded packages are not GOOD deals.

FAST key and sunroof are very nice options which suck to DIY. If you want either of those, then MAYBE consider it. But if you're just looking to get the Nav package or the RF stereo, don't waste your money.

Just remember - the minute you drive the car off the lot, you lose about half the value (because it's now a USED car). So it'd be a REALLY bad deal to trade it in now, especially for the exact same year car. If you're going to trade it in, wait for the '09s to hit the market.

Yup. Go ask what your trade-in would be worth. If you paid $20k, I'd expect them to offer you $10k so they can resell it for $15k (just making up numbers).

We'll agree to disagree. If you go in to your dealership and get a quote that's $2k less than your purchase price, I'll change my mind...

Got my GTS to a trusty dealership. Theyre the one who hooked me up with the gts of course the price range was 21 sumthin without the Package. So Mitsu gave me lower than 19 haha. I took it without hesitation=). My mind is set to picking up the 2.4 Liter GTS though. And thanks to Blacksheepj for helping me out.
