Thumbs up My 08 lancer and an 08 WRX

Story starts off not setting my alarm properly and getting up late for a ferry over to vancouver island. So I grab my stuff and out the door.

Drove my car pretty hard, then on the highway nearer to the ferry i meet up with a subaru impreza wrx who seems to be driving just as hard.

Turns out we are both gunning for the ferry. Got there 10 mins before it left

For it having 224 HP I kept up with it real good. When we got on the ferry. I was the last car and he was right in front of me. We both got out of our cars and said, nice car simutaneously. It was pretty funny.

I didn't know how many ponies he had under the hood and he told me. Then when he heard how many i had, he said wow...you kept right behind me.

Then off the ferry on the other side we drove moderatly fast and got ahead of the people doing 80kms/hr in a 90 zone. And as he took his exit he gave a wave and I returned the gesture out the sunroof.

This has been a great story of these two cars meeting it was fun

I don't exactly get how this was impressive. HP isn't really a big concern when you're both just doing freeway speeds to get to the ferry. If you said you kept up with him in a drag race at a racetrack, I'd be impressed....

Regardless, it's nice to hear a story about a fellow driver who treated a Lancer owner well...

But yes either way it was a nice meeting between two different competing cars and both giving compliments for their nice cars. Its not the car, its only the driver.

Some get too into their "brand" or make of car that they become rude to other makes/models.

I fail to see how this says anything poorly about the suby or anything amazing about the lancer. Untuned, these cars are dogs on the highway since the turbo is tiny, the stock map sucks and the AWD eats power. With a stage 2 reflash and a downpipe, they become a whole new animal. Nice to hear an actual comradery story though, it seems that most Subaru stories on here are "oo mi god, sooberus ar so krappi! I beet one on teh hihway the uther day even tho we wernt racin".

LOL ^

It is usually that, from some kid which mommy and daddy bought their car. Young punks have no respect these days.

I like our cars untuned, they still are somewhat "sporty" and don't lag that bad in the power dept.

I have had friends who drive cummins and ford chipped diesels and they are impressed with the power the lancers have. So its not all that bad. Could be better, but overall not that bad. I LOVE MY CAR!

NA ALL THE WAY

I meant a WRX with a tune, I've yet to see any results from a tuned lancer.

For once I agree with u. Kids like that shouldnt 'get' cars like this. They should earn them like most people do and then they will respect their car and other peoples cars too. And about all this 'racing', its just going fast. 1 guy thinks hes racing the other is listenin to music and cruising
