Custom Short Ram Inteake Heat Shield??

hey all, question, has anybody made a heat shield for a short ram intake. I'm just not sure i want to spend $145 bucks on an rmr intake if I can buy the intake for $40 and make my own shield. Anyway, if anyone has made their own, what materials did you use, dimensions, all that good stuff. Any reasons why this won't work as well as the rmr? Any info would be appreciates, thanks all.

put in your old intake and get an K&N filter.. quiet and still has "most" of that power...

As for making a heatshield... Id say aluminum would be ok I suppose since it dissapates heat really well.. but RMR and Injen both use steel I believe... It should work, but I dont have any dimensions for ya... measure your filter, make a rounded shield roughly that size and find a way to secure it!
