How will you mod your EVO?

Well, rumors apart, I feel we will probable get an EVO that is very close to Japan's Specs.
The less they change, the cheaper it will be for them.

As far as mods, in case we get something very close to the Japan's specs. What will the
people that are getting one soon do?

With this post, I am not interested in finding out how much you know the car can be
modified, I am mainly interested in what people are really going to do the cars if anything
at all

thanks

Cool my plan

ive thought about my mods already. here is what im hoping for.

hks carbon-ti exhaust (the awesome looking one with the blue tips and carbon fiber muffler). here's a link to it hks carbon-ti
hks super sequential blow off valve.
some kind of downpipe (recommendations?).
some type of short shifter (again, recommendations?).
boost, a/f, and egt gauges.

and somewhere down the line, the apex avc-r boost controller. would i need a s-afc with that?

also, when the clutch goes, i will probably get an ACT clutch, assuming they come out with one.

what does everyone think of that?

This is the order I intend to do things:

1) Turbo Timer
2) Upgrade the sound system (sub, deck and amp)
3) Heavy duty clutch! (maybe double plate)
4) Air intake (K&N, or whatever)
5) Strut braces
6) Boost gauge & air/fuel ratio gauge along with
7) a boost controller (just a cheep manual controller)
8) Exhaust system (not sure which one yet)
9) Blow off valve (the louder the better)
10)A nice electronic boost controller
11)Suspension? I'll wait and see until after I've driven the car.

The first 3 items I would do right away, then enjoy the car for a while. The rest would come later as I feel the need for more performance and come that need will!

Thanks,
The shafts on most turbochargers spin in excess of 50,000 RPM and generate lots of heat. To keep your turbocharger's heat under control, most are cooled by circulating oil or water (coolant) around the shaft. The turbocharger's shaft is free to rotate at will and there is no way to stop the shaft from spinning after shutting the engine off. To dissipate and stabilze the heat in the turbocharger, most manufacturers recommend that a car be idled for a period of time after moderate to hard driving to allow the oil/water to take heat out of the turbocharger.
Failure to reduce the temperature of the turbo could result in the oil around the shaft "coking". Coking is basically the baking of oil, turning it into a hard substance that could plug your oil lines and cause oil "starvation", preventing proper cooling of your turbocharger and reducing it's operating lifespan.

If you're going to have a turbo car you'll need to know this. NEVER turn off a turbo charged car after a hard run or highway driving. You need to idle the engine for a minute or 2 to allow the turbo to cool down. If you turn the car off right away you'll cook the oil in the turbo which will harden and block oil from lubricating the turbo the next time you drive.

With a turbo timer you can set you idle time, (30 sec to 5 min.) pull the key out of the ignition, lock your doors and walk away. The turbo timer will idle the car for the length of time you set it for before turning the engine off by it self. This way you don't have to sit in the car and let it idle in order to cool it down.

If I had the funds to support myself AND an Evo, I'd get a new intake, exhaust, turbo timer, strut bars, a nicer BOV, digital A/F and boost gauges and...that's probably it.

HKS EVC boost controller

group 3. (minor shop time, probably gonna do this stuff myself in summer)

Mine's undercar deflector
Mine's Strut tower bar
Mine's anti-sway
Mine's under car bar

I would stick with the basics basics basics...wouldn't want to do anything that'll shorten the life of my baby's motor

Other than a timer and maybe some rims, BONESTOCK KICKS ****~!!
