To me thats them knocking the Lancer. # of items bought from RRM, 0. # of items i will ever buy from them 0. If they were the last mod shop on earth id stop. now thats my 2 cents. i saved the email i heard back from them on. and this is what my lancer looked like.....guess they didnt like it much lol.to me RRM =

So because RRM didn't sponsor you, they're a bad company? I'm sorry but you need more than rims and a decal to get a sponsorship.

i gave them the same proposal i gave to AEM, i lost out to an rx7 at AEM, figured they would like some good advertising return in the area on there products. had alot more under the hood btw. you do see what the first 3 letters of the word assumption spell and your assumption made you one. sry to say but dont knock me personally or ill do same to you.

I totally agree. People are just looking for hand outs these days. Is there any purpose to this thread any longer? It seems that there is nothing new to add to this topic. Furthermore, with one exception I think that we are all on the same page with things.

Dude your car is weak. How the hell do you expect anyone to take notice of your car if it isn't a show car? How can you fault AEM or RRM with not giving you a sponsorship if your car isn't going to get them any recognition?

What shows have you participated in? In what classes have you won? Are you winning races? Are you, aside from your car, famous?

Why should anyone sponsor someone who doesn't do the aformentioned. And besides an exhaust, tinted windows, some rims and possibly a drop what makes you so special that a shop should sponsor you?

And that RX-7 most likely beat you because the RX-7 is a better car in every measurable way as far as recognition in the car world. Your Lancer doens't hold it's own against even a stock RX-7.

This thread has just gone past any point and straight to silly.

So I asumed you were mostly stock, you didn't do nor have you done anything to make me think otherwise. Were the local autocross champ? Were you breakin records at the drag strip? Were you walking away from every show with significan trophies? Sponsorships are not handed out based on personal desire but merit, for every person who is sponsored, there are another 20 people in the wings who work their asses off to try to get one. You can't hold a company responsible because they didn't sponsor what is essentially just another average car with average mods driven by an average person.

People really need to look up what a sponsorship actually is and why companies do it. I don't expect Subaru to sponsor me as a racer simply because I bought their car or have a desire to be a rally driver, I have to prove myself to be a capable competitor and, more importantly, a wise investment on their part.

Ditto. I would say the same thing if I owned a mod shop and some joe-sixpack walked in and said, I'll buy all your gear if you sponser my car. AKA I won't pay a dime for all your parts.

Who are you? Indeed!

Hell even if they paid retail for all your goods, why sponsor them? McDonalds doesn't sponsor every person who buys a cheeseburger.

Ok idk what the topic of this thread is. So far its between overpriced products to being sponsored to fast food maybe even fast food sponsorship.

If this thread doesn't stick to the topic at hand mods just close it please.

At this rate might as well move it to off-topic forum

Odd enough, but they should abide by the rules that we have too.... i hope

Trying to go back on topic. What kind of sales are you guys looking for the vendors to do? Some simple like 10 dollars off or like a straight out 50% off? It's kind of vague what we're trying to aim at. They come on the forums every now and then so maybe they might listen to us and see where we can find a middle ground or negotiate a sale for that matter.

Lol well the thread essentially started as a "why do vendors charge X?" thread but after someone suggested that because RRM did not sponsor their average car, they were a bad company, it led to explaining what a sponsorship and why a company (like McDonalds) does not simply hand them out to people who buy their products.

I don't think a 10-15% off deal for people would hurt...

Maybe for first time customers every other month, and returning customers on the between months.

Sounds like a pretty good idea. Especially if somebody were to order the whole catalog at once. Might not make a big difference on individual products, but might also increase multiple item sales.

Or knock 20-25% off and give the 'fend for yourself' approach to customer service on these sales.

Anything would be better than full price at this point. Gas is expensive enough, most of us are already having to cut back on other things to keep the tank full. Why make mods that bad too?

You definitely know what's up about sponsorships I just had to hop in and offer this link up about that same topic.
