2009 lancer tint question

it is to my understanding that the 2008 lancer has to have a felt moleskin attached to the window squeegy things so that it will not scratch and ruin the tint. does anyone know if this was fixed with the 2009 model? i am looking to tint my windows REAL soon, and if i need this then i do not wanna pay someone 100+ dollars to do something that i can do for 25.

I just got my '09 Lancer done this week. The guy who did mine does tint on very high end cars. He did my boyfriend's '08 Vette and showed pictures of a Lamborghini he did the day before. Anyhow, he told me that the scratches happen on Lancers, Acuras, and several others. He said that if you do roll your windows down, just wipe out the modeling (not the word he used, but I can't think of what it was). He said that dirt particles get stuck in there because it is such a tight fit. He has even seen windows on an Acura TL get scratched without the window tint. I asked him about the moleskin and he said, realistically, in other parts of the country, it may help, but I live in TX where it gets so hot in the summers that the glue melts and ends up all over your window when you roll it down. At that point, I think I'd rather have a few tiny scratches. I hardly ever roll my windows down anyway. I can handle wiping them out every once in awhile.
