I'm going to go the mitsubishi stealership on tuesday to check out the 2009 Lancer GTS 2.4L, I know that in California the 2.0 is detuned to 143HP is the 2.4 detuned as well or is it only for the 2.0? I really want to know because i want to buy this car and don't want to have a detuned version while everybody outside of California will be enjoying their Lancers.

 

its gonna b detuned but not to worry cali is not the only place with that problem NY is the same way

 

so the 2.4 lancer gts has 168HP about how much HP would it have once it's detuned? Also if i mod the car would it fail to meet california requirements? sorry for all the questions i have modded my other cars is just that im about to buy a car that could possibly be detuned and don't know the rules as to modding a detuned car.

 

i dont think the 4b12 2.4L is PZEV / FED spec.. i think they are all the same.. the 08-09 de es and what not are PZEV in CA though.. dont bother asking the dealership becuase they are idiots and told a guy i know, that all 09s come with the 2.4L .. (BS)

and.. they arent DETUNED they have different parts in the exhaust which are more air friendly.. IE exhaust mani and an extra CAT

Yea they'll say anything to sell a car so on tuesday im going to buy myself 2009 Lancer GTS 2.4L w/ sun & sound pkg they have two on the lot for around $20,000 both are 5spd and the colors are rally red and rotor glow ill most likely go for the rotor glow that is if they still have it by tuesday. thanks for your help guys

thnx guys i ended up getting rotorglow and so far im loving the car im just going wait on more turbo kit choices because i want to go F/I on this car i dont want to rush and buy a header and cai so its hard resisting. so far only RRM offers a turbo kit right?

 

Nice choice on the rotor glow. I've been loving my rotor glow '09 GTS for a while now. Did you chose the CVT on purpose, or was that the only ones they had on the lot? Just wondering how it drives, cause I have mine in manual and i'm partial to it.

 

this thread is old i though i posted what had happened the dealer ended up giving me an 08 rotor glow when i found out i took it back and got 09 2.4L GTS fed wicked white instead and yes its cvt but idk if i should get a turbo for this or buy the genesis coupe since cvt turbo is taking a while
