4g92 mivec project

Ok guys I'm sure alot of you known i was selling my lancer well i did sell it (sort of) anyhow it's a long story but i got my lancer back and I now have a 4g92 mivec dohc head in my possession it has port and polish work done it and from what the previous owner told me he has put down 200 hp easy as NA but he has also told me that his friend has bolted up a head just like this on a 2.4L 4g64 bottom end which would mean the evo 8 head will bolt up to our bottom end then i assume because this head 4G92 dohc mivec will bolt directly to our bottom end so if anyone can clarify this it would be really helpful because i have a friend who is selling his 4g64 motor but i know i can get the bottom half from him.Just want to be sure that this will work before we go ahead and take the engine apart to see if the 4g92 head will bolt up with the 4g64 bottom end thanks for the info in advance and be on the lookout for one hell of a fast lancer in the next few months as my project progressess.here are a pic of the head for reference use only not the actual head i have in my possession also here is a pic of me car so you guys can remember.

Hi,

To get 200 bhp from a 4G92 Mivec without Turbocharging will require alot more than a port job. From Experience it will require, high compression pistons and some wild cams. The 4G92 Mivec does not respond well to the normal tuning mods and will not make the same BHP as a similar honda engine with the same mods.

From my recollection the 4G92 head will bolt onto the 4G9* series bottom end as they are all basically the same block, just with a little taller depending on the stroke of the engine. The 4G6* serious engines have the pistons further apart and thus the head will not work on those engines.

I would advise you to have a look at www.mivec.co.nz and do some searches as the people on there have tried pretty much everything with those engines.

I hope this helps.

HAHA. why didnt you say so. Turbo charged Mivec can make decent power once tuned properly. You can bolt the head onto the 4G93 or 94 block and make alot more torque

Well the 4G92e came with a dohc rather than the sohc we have. With that, we'd see much better gain from breather mods and cams. And theres a little more power from just having the DOHC.

It bolts right up to block which would mean you have a 2.0 dohc mivec instead of a 1.6

Well we start out with a 2.0 in the states, but it's still a great mod. Theres another thread about it somewhere here recently. It's called "4G94 MIVEC" I think. Search that. Theres a link to a guy who has an unlimited supply. They're like $1800 shipped though.

Yeah, a turbo is more beneficial instantly, but the dohc will improve everything overall for the rest of the mods you do.
