Help! OZ Problems

I have been driving my 02 OZ Lancer as a daily drive for a while and all of a sudden i noticed white smoke coming from under the hood. I look at my temp gauge (OEM cluster) and the needle is near red. I was only like 2 miles from home, so I didn't stop and just continued. I was going about 55mph on M5 in MI which has a speed limit of 55. All of a sudden the temp starts dropping and things were fine.

I listened for any odd sounds or anything while driving and nothing was wrong until I came to a stop again then during idle my RPMS shot up to like 2k during idle and the temp just climbed.

I got home and popped the hood to notice my coolant was litterally boiling and spilling out of the tank not the radiator. The hose was easy to compress. I know the thermostat isn't bad because it was replaced last January. I also am pretty sure the head gasket is not bad because there are no oil problems or any issues during driving.

Anyone got input on this?

The white smoke was from coolent leaking onto the hot engine. Could have been that you didn't have enough coolent and it started to boil over as a result of not being able to cool the car. When yous started to drive your car started to cool because of the air. Chances are you just need to fill the coolent up. Try that.

Tried to fill up the coolant and I am still getting problems. The thermostat appears to be working fine. No clue what else it could really be. There are no issues with the radiator or lines.

Try Replacing the Radiator cap. The same thing happened to my friends Eclipse and that worked for him.
