Mods i'm looking to do

So with my 2008 Lancer ES, im looking to do these mods---

Megan Racing Seats
Carbon fiber hood
Carbon fiber grill
SRI/CAI
Back axle exhaust
Platinum spark plugs
New rims
New sports performance tires
Wind splitter
HID Lights
Window tint

would you say these types of mods together are worth having/doing, performance and COST wise?

and what would you say is the relative difficulty of these mods? some are incredibly easy, i have done my homework, but I am not a car person, just an enthusiast that is looking to become more hands on and knowledgeable! so I figure it would be fun, and beneficial (in different ways) to start working on some car installs...

my main difficulty concern really, is installing the HID lights, because it just seems more complicated for me to do myself---

the carbon fiber hood, looks like aside from it being expensive----do i REALLY need hood pins? and will ANY CF hood fit on my 2008 lancer as long as it is advertised for the 2008 lancers?

im just a newbie trying to learn!

Megan Racing Seats - I know that the stock seats do not support you at all during cornering but racing seats could be a little overkill but If you can afford them get them.

Carbon fiber hood - If you like the looks of it yeah. Somebody who has bought them should know about fitment issues, whether it has the holes for the windshield washer nozzles etc. but performancewise it won't make a difference that you can feel.

Carbon fiber grill - I've seen those and I like them.

SRI/CAI - the performance gains will be minor, so if I was you I would spend my money on suspension mods and tires.

Back axle exhaust - No great performance gains but it can make your car sound better, I prefer the RRM axleback due to being un noticable and not too loud.

Platinum spark plugs - wont make a difference, wait a couple thousand miles and replace the stock ones with whatever you want.

New rims
New sports performance tires - get something wider than stock, highly recomended. I'm gonna get lightweight 17x8 rims and 235/45317 tires.

Wind splitter - For looks mostly, others might argue otherwise but on a street car you probably won't feel the difference.

HID Lights - would be nice if you would get projectors, but I would get them.

May I suggest a rear swaybar to go with the wheels and tires cuz it seems that you don't have any suspension mods. That's where you can really get a lot of bang for the buck compared to intakes and exhaust.

Just my opinion.

First off I would suggest searching for more in depth answers to your questions. Now onto the advice.

Megan Racing Seats- waste of money, they don't do anything performance wise and are more hassle than they're worth unless you are serious about racing. Moreover I wouldn't trust my life with Megan seats, if the seats aren't manufactured by a company prominent in racing (Sparco, Bride, Recaro, etc), stay away. If you simply want to be held in you seat tighter, buy a CG lock for 40$.

Carbon fiber hood- does nothing for performance, some can look good but it's personal preference. Hood pins are a good idea.

Carbon fiber grill- same as above.

SRI/CAI- again, this won't do much for performance, it's essentially a noise maker. Even on a turboed car intakes can be a big waste of money and just make things noisier. If that's what you want, go for it.

Back axle exhaust- will do nothing for performance, is just a noise maker

Platinum spark plugs- don't bother, they're expensive and do nothing

New rims- personal preference

New sports performance tires- good idea if you care about performance

Wind splitter- waste of money, unless you race you won't notice anything and it's just something to scrape

HID Lights- if your car does not come with projectors stock, this is a waste of money and will only **** off other drivers

Window tint- personal preference

Things you missed are sway bars which definitely help handling. If you want power, save up for a turbo kit.

good advice guys,

How can I find out if my car has projector headlights? I know a lot of newer cars do, but i'd hate to waste my time/money, if they don't.

also, the sway bars are definitely something to look into.

I think I may have stated it wrong, im not simply looking for performance, if that were the case i'd have bought an evo, but i want to mod for looks as well, and obviously, i intend to stay as far away from rice as possible.

The mods look good. All the lancers have reflector style headlamps except the evo mr and the ralliart with the recaro pack. If u do get HIDs make sure u get the D2R style, they are designed for reflector lamps and won't blind everybody. the D2S style are for projector lamps and will annoy everyone and probably get u a ticket
