We buy evo's for their performance attributes. If i couldnt afford an evo why the would i get a lancer and try to make it look like an evo when the thing i wanted most wasnt even there?

It's a neat idea, but the costs involved (for the car and to make it look like an evo) must cost near the price of a base gsr.

Probably around 10K. That plus the cost of a Lancer and wheels and tires to fill the wide body you will spend as much as buying an Evo. But in the end you will just have a car that looks like one and much slower. Lame.

Well , not everyone wants an Evo ! Also take into account the extra cost of the car as well as the extra insurance you'll pay for an Evo vs a lancer . For those under 25 insurance can be insane and for those under 21 forget-about-it ; also the cost of parts to make it go faster can get up there and not everyone wants a 500hp car . I think the car looks just fine and can maybe use some extra power

heh so much heat!!

i like how its 2 tones actually flat black is pretty cool maybe the next time i repaint my car i'll paint it flat black heh.

and im speaking as a lancer owner
im not a big fan of evo conversion kits, but what i like to do is to mod my lancer and make it look the way i want. sure i might steal like an idea or 2 from the evo (side plate) (flatblack bumper), but in the end i just want to make it MY car, IMO theres no point in making my car looking like an evo. bcuz 1) its not an evo, 2) then i'll look like everyone else who drives and evo, which defeats the purpose of modding a car

i think when u mod a car u make it look different, which is why im not a big fan of the conversion kits and stuff...which by the way DOES look NICE.

p.s. i think everyone who does body work on their car has to have at least some performance parts. and fyi fart cans do not count =) nor does 26in spinners hehh

i honestly couldnt see it costing that much..i looked in to the only evo kit replica that accolade has for the evo x

http://www.body-kit.com/lancerevox2008.html

and i was told that all kits made for lancers/evos/mazdas whatever, all of accolades product are OEM fitment, with that being said thats going to save a TON on labor and taking into consideration that this kit could possibly installed at home with the exception of the rear fenders ( dont know how thats gonna work) but everything else can pretty much be bolted on. so if the OEM fitment stated by accolade stands true then its not as bad as i thought..as i stated before that base lancer DE probably cost 15-16k at most with the conversion spending about 5 or 6 k thats still 22-23k around the price of a GTS.

i personally would not that. and i think it can get in the hands of the wrong people (ex ricers) i could see it for promotion use for companys or lancer owners who makes the car a show car at events strictly and know the boundaries

but being a lancer and evo owner i think i can speak for every evo owner that even with the conversion there are still some ways that u can tell just by looking that its not an evo.

none the less a good job on the kit

Cars like the M5 or RS4 looks even more like the base versions, & we don't see people complaining.
lol i dont think there is one person who would turn down an evo because they were worried people would confuse it with a lancer. Or one person who would turn down an m5 or an rs4 because it looked too much like a 528 or an a4.

I think the best way to express what i'm saying is to take on the mindset of anyone who has owned a true Type R Integra. You know what you have, how rare it is, how wonderful it is, and yet to have it dismissed as an integra with stickers simply because everybody and their mother with integras did a type r conversion on it. And for the ones that didn't feel like trying but still thought they might fool a couple people just slapped badges on their car, regardless if it was even the correct model to begin with. I'm all for being unique and whatnot but in a good majority of the cases, that "uniqueness" is just a big ol slap in the face to the guy sitting in the real thing.

Ever heard imitation is a form a flattery? Not the exact quote but its the basics. I wouldn't always lump people in like this. Wanting a more aggressive look for a somewhat tame car is fine. Some people have different tastes and some want the look of the higher dollar car without having to spend that much cash. Some people like myself don't have a ton of cash and get what we can. I personally love the look of the Evo and wouldn't mind getting the conversion kit, but i personally like the Extreme Dimensions GT Concept kit. Its kinda Evoish but not quite the same.
