throttle control
So far I've only driven old school cars with mechanical throttle control via the good old bowden cable. I enjoy the instant response and having a total control over my car.
Step into the 21st century and you'll be hard pressed to find a car without electronic throttle control. Looking at numerous car related forums, I've seen all kinds of complaints about throttle delays, hesitation in RPM dropping when engine breaking and so on.
How is the new Lancer doing in that area? Apparently, there was a TSB for RPMs staying high after "spirited driving". What about acceleration response?
Thanks.

hmm, so basically:
- when you step on it, does it go right away or is there any hesitation?
- when you take your foot off gas, do RPMs drop down immediately or do they stay on for a sec or so?

Thanks guys.
I'm just so used to cable controlled throttle that I have a feeling I'm gonna hate my new car because of that alone. I'd take this over Bluetooth and other modern tech gadgets. Old school, baby!

My first car was a 2006 honda civic >.< (don't hate me lol. my dad bought it for me.) it has a 5 spd automatic with an electronic throttle and i could floor the pedal from a stop or rolling and there was about a 2 second delay. however if i was rolling and i downshifted manually and then floored it i usually got instant to maybe half a second response.
through playing with it i also learned how to manipulate the throttle to keep the rpms low, and make it shift when i want...in a sense.
i have the Lancer OZ now with a 5 spd manual trans and cable throttle and its got so much more control. i would never go back to an automatic or an electronic throttle. lol
anyway that's my 2 cents about the topic.
