Is it really worth it to get aftermarket intake for 2009 lancer es sport? I used to have a 98 lexus es300 and was a member on clublexus.com (not trying to advertise site or anything, staff) and the guys on there are true dyno techs, they said unless its a real expensive intake, and it has to be cold air, you might even lose horsepower. They said no matter what intake you have you won't get more than 5HP from it or any "true" performance gains because it's the ECU that actually control the airflow, so no matter how much air you pulling in, if the ECU only allows certain amount of it coming into the engine, it's useless. I forgot what one of the intake name is but it's around 300 bucks for the kit.

The only way they said to get boost out of your car from stock is to replace the headers and get y pipe exhaust. I just want to get you guy's opinions on here and if anyone have any informational site they can link to show me some specs that would be very helpful!! Also if getting and aftermarket intake is useful, where can I get a decent priced one and how to install it, without having to cost an arm and a leg. I'm looking somehwere around $100-$150 price range.

well first of all you arent gonna find one for 100-150. i think dont really remember but RRM Sri v2 is the cheapest but yes you will see gains and that is gains in throttle response, tq, and hp. It doesnt madder what type of performance part it is if it is designed correctly it will post gains.
