So i've heard of these before. a buddy of mine bought one for his 06 lancer, said it cost him like 30 bucks---"gas saver and performance"...and "plug and play"

I have no experience with these, primarily because for 30 dollars, it seems like its a waste of money and a ripoff...

however, he swears it was worth it---having no experience with cheap mods like that, I can't really speak against it fairly.

Personally, I'm planning on getting the WORKS ECU replacement, but obviously thats a few hundred, i'm curious if anyone has any insight, perspective, pros/cons, of these little cheap add on chips? the way they are advertised, makes me just assume they are pure garbage, but can anyone say that they aren't for a specific reason?

 

those cheap ebay ones arent worth it. any of those cheap mods dont really work.

 

They are pure garbage, I believe it's a resistor that connects to your MAF. It doesn't add any power or saves you gas.
Just get the Works ECU.
