wait so can u explain again like what affects what depending on how the exhaust and piping is designed? (straight vs many curves and turns or compartments)

i love my works so its up to u, i only got the works cuz i know well be stucking waiting a WHILE before 2.4L spec parts come out fron injen, so the works is to hold me over wit the tuner bug lol. as for design? straight piping is for high end power, and with our motors we end up losing a lot of low end torque, so we need some backpressure. rrm claims that works' design actually makes u LOSE power because there is no muffler aka less backpressure. they will hopefully dyno one at thier next lancer meet. well see. supposed claim is 5-7hp gain on the Exhale...altho on the site it doesnt say that, im still skeptical myself if that number came directly from works.

+1 It looks like a grenade launcher

I'm gonna be ordering the Magnaflow cat-back pretty quick here. The vendor I'm getting it from said that if it doesn't fit the 2.4L, he will give me a full refund.

I talked to another member with this exhaust and they said you don't have to weld it to the cat. The magnaflow pipe sticks inside the cat's pipe and u tighten it with a u-bolt

i've heard different things from different people about the RRM and Works axlebacks.

The rrm seems like a more sensible choice...comes with an actual muffler, whereas the works is just a straight pipe.

As for sound, you can find sound clips of both exhausts on youtube or on vendor websites.

It's really a toss up, IMHO. You won't be getting that much of a gain off of axelbacks, and they both will produce about the same amount of gain. I think it's a matter of preference between the two shops, works or RRM.

Good luck with your choice and whatever you get, let us know what u think!

i know but didnt you jsut get the works axleback cuz u were tired of waiting? im getting tired of waiting for Injen to make a CAI for the 09 lancers so i might just end up getting the RRM sri... iono but exhaust that magnaflow catback just doesnt look like you will gain much from all those turns and curves... i know exactly what i want for eveyr other parts except intake and exhaust... kinda tired of waiting for some stuff but yet dont wanna end up buying something i wont be completely satisfied with...

Injen CAI when it comes out for 09 vs. RRM SRI ?
RRM Axleback Exhaust vs Magnaflow Catback Exhaust ?
