Unhappy (Sigh) Need some advice...

This always happends when a car gets close to the top of its climb.

FIRST OFF THIS IS NOT AN "I WRECKED THREAD" I just need some advice so I'm posting here. Please limit the "sux to be you bro"

Got into a wreck... car pulled out in front of me while I was going down a busy road and I ended up T-boning her. She was at fault. I was going about 40ish and slammed on brakes when I seen her and skidded for about 15 feet and my collision speed was around 17-25ish. No crash bar!

Their insurance rep is coming Monday to look at my car and I requested to be there when they come.

My questions are...

#1 How would they handle my aftermarket parts? For instance she punctured an Intercooler pipe and my intercooler which made the car undrivable. How would they adjust for that? Should I tell them that they were Evo pipes and IC to get an easy price and estimate or should I tell them they were custom?

#2 I had an IC pipe blow off before and I basically was able to limp the car to a place where I could fix it. When I crashed friday my car at first it didnt even want to start. When it finally did it didnt even was to move as much as it did before when I had a whole pipe off. Think that's a sign of a big problem?

#3 It looks like the front frame was bent some. Nothing huge but its not minor either. The hood lactch is jacke up now but all the panels were still in line so is that be fixable or do you think they are going to throw the "T" word at me?

#4 It looks like I'm probly going to need a new cedia head light, bumper, intercooler, IC pipes, carbon fiber grill, maybe a fender, and maybe a new hood. As you can see I'm going to need a lot of aftermarket stuff. If she is fixable think there is a goodchance I could get a carbon fiber hood out of the fix if it is cheaper or same price as OEM?

From what I could see no fluids were on the ground and the radiator looked in tact but you know yo can never tell. I'm really worried about my turbo bits. The major stuff like the turbo itself and manifold looked fine but I'm worried about problems with the $$$ for the IC and pipes.

Advice please...

Thanks.

I would try to put that crash bar back on to start with, in case they try to act stupid about it. What insurance company do you have? Most of the time, they'll just adjust for how much stock parts cost, unless you told them you added things to the car and they're covered.

Yeah, I have full coverage and they do to but I couldnt put the crash bar on since it was at the towing company.

Update: The adjuster came out yesterday to the towing place and looked. To my surprize he knew what he was looking at and spotted everything except the head lights. I pretty much gave him prices of everything I bought.

One problem. The intercooler and IC pipes. The pipes were custom and I have no clue what intercooler that was. I'm going to talk to my local Mitsu and see if they can provide slips for the IC and pipes. If not, I'll get the prices and tell their insurance company and see what happends.

same thing happen to me except i'm all stock up front but prior wrecks...(vet. of at least 22 not at fault accidents and not bragging ) just depends on insurance co. and policy coverage. some cover aftermarket only if they know before hand and are on policy, some just need reciepts and some say ur on ur own lol. make sure they allow for the bent frame parts tho, 2 of my 3 estimates missed some and insurance only wanted to cover just soo much above original estimate. sounds like u got most of it wrapped up tho just get an estimate of what it takes the shop to replace/repair /make all ur custom parts. and ya i owned a 93 mustang with stock exterior and got in a bad front end wreck and ended up with a brand new full custom paint, cf fenders and cf induction hood, i ended up adding a supercharger for only like 200$...not so lucky with the lancer tho ...oh ya most insurance (since car is a bit older) want to only pay out for refurbished parts or try to adjust new price minus miles and wear with some rediculous formula....blah, don't let em get away with it...good luck
