2008 GTS or 2009 GTS?

My patience payed off i checked Mitsubishi's site and they are offering:
0 percent for 60 months on 09 Lancer
0 percent for 72 months on 08 Lancer

I want to get the GTS but iam wondering if i go for the 2008 is the lost in HP that much of a deal breaker? Because iam shooting for 17000 OTD for a lancer gts and if i go for the 08 17K/72=$236.11 but the 09 with 60 months no interest is 288.88. So is the loss of HP that big of a deal?

You're paying 50$ less and if I'm not mistaken for the 08 model and has about 10 hp less than the 09 model. I think the 10 hp is negligable And if you want more power/performance, save up the extra 50$ a month and get intake/exhaust/pulley

there is 16 less hp but its teh tq that you should be concerned with there is 21 ftlb of torque less. good luck getting that with less than 1500 dollars in mods.

heres how i see it, if your going to mod to try to get any more HP at all then you might as well go with the 09 else you can put over 1500 in the 08 and still not be where the 09 is.

what is the otd price of the 09 ?

I would think you could really talk down the price of an 08 GTS since its April 09, making your payments even lower...

no replacement for displacement, get the 09 forrr sure! plus think about the resale value, the 09s have the 2.4l engine vs the 2.0, most buyers will want the improved model.

i would go with the 08,yea people were pissed when the 2.4 came out,but only us and canada has the 2.4 so the aftermarket will be stronger for the 2.0 plus its the lil brother to the evo

that is very true,i think bottom line to get alot of power out of the 2.0 and the 2.4 you need to drop $$$ , that being said the 2.4 mod for mod will give you more power, but then the 2.4 might not have as much aftermarket as the 2.0 will , thats my opinion and everyone will have their own,now if the 2.4 was in the lancers over in japan, singapore etc then id say the 2.4 ,guess it all depends on how heavy you want to mod it,think no matter how you look at it they both have their advantages

i got 20k otd for a 2009 lancer gts with s&s and cvt this was 7 months ago.

i bet you can get an 09 gts without s&s for 19k otd and if u get 5spd instead of cvt

probably like 18250 otd

I mentioned this before, but all the development going on in Japan and stuff, there is word that some hardcore internal mods are on the way. lol the heart breaker, its all for the 2.0L . they just dont have a 4b12 platform there for development

Its hard to say how long before the 4b12 catches up

EDIT: Infamous_pt4 pointed it out, i didnt see it
