Might be a nice race if the jetta's a 5 speed with a good driver. Jetta's are 115 hp. stock (not VR6 ). But I've never really checked into jetta's but that would be my guess..

That was the early to mid 90's jetta's that are 115.. the box(e) styled jetta's.. The new one's have more then that if I'm not wrong.

the topic seems to be meandering, but who cares i'm a badass anyway!! but back to reality, lol, are the evo's worth saving up for? i wont be truly racing, on a track at least. but i like the AWD and more HP. ???????? i know someone will probably say, "hey, man it's your car", so pretend your in my shoes and tell me what you would do.

Lol if you have money to get one just too sport around more power to you. I have heard it will around 250 hp. instead of an original 276 I believe?

Check out the newest issue of SCC an they compare the Evo 7 (European Spec) vs. WRX. My friend was telling me in a 1/4 mile I believe the Evo did a 13.3 and the WRX did a 13.4 .

If you just want the extra HP an the joy of having a nice car go for it then when someone's eggin' you on somewhere you can dust them.

I'm not really a VW person so I have no clue which models or what is what.. I just heard that the older jetta's had 115 hp.

What in general are you looking for? Like what kind of tuneability? I mean, if you want a quick car to get you from work and back or what not, a lot of cars would be just fine, even without modifications.

wow, if i were you id either get an integra GSR because of it modibility or a used S4 and just buy a new turbo and clutch for that insane amount of hp.....i myself am not a big fan of the WRX it is over rated and im dead positive it will be just as fast as the jap spec, they arent changing as much as you guys would think.....if you can buy an evo, with no mods it will still crush most cars.....other than that an audi S4 (biturbo is delicious) or just go for a GSR intagra and mod the crap out of it.

maybe look into a nissan 240sx and do a nice SR20DET swap...wow

what i meant to say is that the WRX will not be able to compete with an EVO....the evo will not be changed as much as you guys think when it comes over, it will still be in the sub 5's 0-60....

for 25k I would definitely get WRX. Straight out beats RSX in handling, acceleration, and mod-ability (if you want to go fast, really fast in RSX-S, you'll probably have to go forced induction anyways.) FF vs. AWD, no brainer.

But if you can save couple thousand more, get EVO!

Import Lancer brings up some good points, on the ITR though, those are extremely hard to find.... Cause the people that have them don't want to give them up.... But if you have 25k to spend you really have your pic..... I wouldn't suggest a lancer or a new civic because the new civic is just hard to mod.... and at this point if you're looking for a lot of mods, the lancer just doesn't have THAT many but that is just (IMO)... I would suggest like Import Lancer did and RSX Type S or a new SVT Focus,..... Or for a little more get a WRX Those 3 are all very good cars...... Or a Eclipse GT.... With that type of money to spend, it really comes down to what type of styling, performance, etc you like..... do some test drives see what feels right to you...
