newbie to turbo

newbie to turbo

hey guys i have a 03 lancer oz and im thinking about getting a turbo kit for it, i thinking about getting a RRM one i just want to know a few things, i dont want to blow my engine cause its my only ride so i dont plan to go over 5psi of boost, would my car last? i keep reading things about turbo timers? what do those do? im a total newbie to turbo kits and on cars in general i was hoping you guys could help me out..thanks!

I think your car would last, and i think turbo timers keeps the engine running when you take out the key and cools down the turbo (so you don't have to wait in the car while it cools down). I think a lot. Oh yeah, search.

those are both correct answers. keep it in the 5 - 6 psi and you will be safe.

turbo timers allow the oil to cycle through your turbo to help cool it down to avoid coking of the oil in the lines.

one thing about any turbo car, and would be a better idea and help keep your car alive longer(having owned a turbo car myself) would be to purchase a oil cooler
