Sub Box
Sub Box
Hey guys, well im going to be making a sub box in woodwork this year for my future lancer.
I want it to fit perfectly behind the seats, so on a slant.
Does anyone have a diagram or the measurements so it would fit snug.
Thanks
For 08-09

1. go to mitsu dealership
2. measure what you need
3. ????
4. profit!
and its not as simple as that drawing. if you look into the trunk from the back, the part where the sides connect to the top of the trunk are angled, not 90 degrees. just wait til you get a lancer and do it yourself, much more exact and easier.

i was bored, so here you go!! all dimensions are in inches

the left picture is if you are looking into the trunk from the back. as you can see, the sides go up at an angle, and are different widths at the top and bottom. then theres an angle from the sides to the flat top. the little notch in the right picture is a seat bracket that extends out 4" as you can see. if you want, you can build a big enough notch in the box so it will fit right over it, but IMO thats too much work haha.
i suggest when you make the box, you subtract AT LEAST 1/8 - 1/4 inch from each dimension to allow for applying carpet to the box, and for it to still be able to fit snug.

i will haha, prob wont be for a while, cause im going to do it in woodwork, so i have to make 3 little stupid projects first then i can build what i want.
oh and on the second pic, it shows a 4" thing, is that just in one spot or across the whole trunk?
oh and one more thing, whats the height of it?

make sure when you build it that you use 3/4" MDF!
