Hey i was wondering is it legal to trade warranty information? say, i bought an alternator at pepboys and someone here needed one, and i gave him my warranty info for him to swap his out.

i know this is needed for brakes, starters, alternator, water pumps, etc... I'm not being cheap, just some people might need a helping hand depending in the situation.
