Bumper Heatshield question?

Okay so I recently installed an n1 catback exhaust system and it doesn't sit well. (The muffler sits to far to the right in the little area where the muffler comes out of your rear bumper.) It sits all the way to the right touching my rear bumper and sadly for me...I had to get to work before me and my brother could figure out something to do and I drove it to work. The muffler tip melted through some of my rear bumper and I need to do something about it.

Since I already scared the look of the area down there I'm going to be buying a heatshield for my rear bumper to cover up the melted through part. My question is if I get one of these stainless steel heatshields will the metal heat up and melt even more of my bumper? (If I install a heatshield the muffler tip will be touching the heatshield, and the heatshield of course is attached to the bumper...and since metal heats up...well yeah)

Link to the heatshield I might get, https://www.lancershop.com/customer/...p?cat=223&js=n

So do you think I'd be safe to get one or should you give me suggestions on how to fix how my muffler sits.

I'll take a picture tomorrow since its 11:30 PM and its storming outside.

Never mind I strung a unraveled close hanger under my car to pull the muffler tip over to the center. Now if I get a heatshield it'll be fine.
