Battery relocation issue

I relocated my battery to the trunk and thought everything was good, but turns out I may have a short somewhere? I ran 2 gauge from the trunk up to the original positive terminal and grounded the original battery ground to the frame. The lights came on and all but when I turned the key to the start position everything shutoff and now nothing works. If I check with a volt meter between the positive connection under the hood and a ground it reads 0-.1 volt range. If I unbolt all the power leads from the original battery location and check voltage between the wire from the trunk and ground it reads 13.XX volts. Anyone else run into this issue?
